Kaya Scodelario plays a teen who offers to babysit her neighbor's baby because the woman is the splitting image of her late mother.
"The Truth About Emanuel" has released a trailer. Jessica Biel plays a mother of one named Linda who finds a new babysitter in the titular character. But the young girl applies for the job only because Linda bears striking resemblance to her mother.
Portrayed by Kaya Scodelario, Emanuel whose mother died giving birth to her seems to go along with the delusion as she's working as a babysitter for her new neighbor. She unwittingly enters a fragile, fictional world, of which she becomes the gatekeeper.
The psychological thriller was premiered at the Sundance Film Festival early this year. Francesca Gregorini, the director, screenwriter and co-producer of the film, received a nomination at the event for Grand Jury Prize - Dramatic.
The movie is set for January 10, 2014 in the U.S.
