The 'Smash' director has been spotted for the first time with his actress wife in L.A. after being caught kissing the 'American Idol' alumna.

AceShowbiz - On Saturday, October 26 in Los Angeles, "Smash" director Michael Morris was seen for the first time out with his actress wife Mary McCormack since being caught earlier that week kissing singer Katharine McPhee whom he directed in their now canceled NBC series. It was quite a surprise to see the couple together after it was revealed that McCormack threw Morris out of their home over the alleged affair.

Looking coordinated with their black tops over jeans and dark sunglasses, Morris was spotted still wearing his wedding ring, while McCormack kept her left hand from view as it was tucked inside her pocket. Perhaps it was a manifestation of sorts of the state of their more than a decade-long marriage, with husband Morris reportedly wanting to save their union while his spouse already wants to call it quits despite the couple having three young daughters.

Before the controversial photos came out, the couple supposedly had a "solid marriage," but as it turned out, McCormack was clueless and "had no idea anything had been going on. The last thing she ever thought was that he was seeing another woman." Apparently, she learned about it before the photos even came out, with Morris himself informing her that the pictures were being shopped around.

Although McPhee is reported to have separated from her producer husband Nick Cokas half a year ago, she is reportedly "having a hard time" dealing with the situation and "very upset." "Katharine cares about Michael, but she still cares about Nick too. She didn't mean for anyone to be hurt," said an insider.
