Tyler, the Creator is not pleased with the full nomination list of the first ever YouTube Music Awards. The rapper has taken to his Twitter to blast the new awards show, claiming that the awards are focusing too much on what he calls "teeny bopper pop s**t."
"YOUTUBE AWARDS COULDVE FU**ING HAD NOMINATIONS ON COOL CREATIVE VIDEOS S**T BUT NOOOO AGAIN ITS THE MOST TEENY BOPPER POP S**T," he tweeted on Wednesday, October 23. "YOU ARE BUTT."
"WHY NOT GIVE AWARDS TO JUST DIRECTORS, THESE F**KING WEAK A** ARTIST DONT COME UP WITH THESE SHOTS OR SIT IN COLORING F**K THEM THEY SUCK," he continued.
However, Tyler is happy for Toro y Moi, who got nominated in the "Innovation of the Year" category alongside the likes of Atoms for Peace and Bat for Lashes. "AT LEAST TORO GOT A NOM THATS SICK," the leader of Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All said.
Tyler, who is set to perform at the show with Earl Sweatshirt, M.I.A., Arcade Fire, Eminem, and Lady GaGa, then bitterly added, "EARL AND I HAVE TO PERFORM THERE NEXT WEEK HAHAHAHAHA."
Tyler is not the only artist who has openly criticized the YouTube Music Awards. Musician Flying Lotus has also slammed the show on Twitter, writing, "Seems like the YouTube music awards are pretty much the same as the VMAs. I don't really see the point."
"If it's all about hits sure I get it but let's be fair. YouTube award nominations clearly don't care about cutting edge/innovation," he continued. "They had an opportunity to shine a light on all the artists that they helped to gain notoriety just to s**t on them for uber famous acts. No disrespect to the nominees yadda yadda."
The YouTube Music Awards will be handed out on Sunday, November 3 during a concert event in New York. The event will be hosted by Jason Schwartzman and Reggie Watts.
