The 'Mechanical Animals' singer will voice Shadow on the ABC fantasy drama series, while the 'Dawson's Creek' alum will reprise his role as Robin's ex-boyfriend Simon on CBS' 'How I Met Your Mother'.
Marilyn Manson books a trip to the fantasy land of "Once Upon a Time". The four-time Grammy Award-nominated rocker will lend his voice to Shadow, "a character whose voice will give life to the very essence of Neverland."
Series creators and executive producers Eddy Kitsis and Adam Horowitz tell Rolling Stone, "We've always been enormous fans of Marilyn Manson. We wanted to cast someone with the vocal ability to make our skin crawl."
Manson will join the cast beginning in November. In the meantime, fans can look forward to a new romance that sparks between [SPOILER ALERT!] Emma and Captain Hook. Entertainment Weekly has obtained sneak peeks to the couple's intimate moment, including when they kiss.
"I kind of knew at some point it was coming," Jennifer Morrison says of the smooch, which will be seen in an upcoming October 27 episode. "I knew from all the way back, when they brought both Michael Raymond-James and Colin O'Donoghue on, that it was always the intention to create some sort of love triangle with the two of them and Emma...having a very legitimate pull between those two men."
O'Donoghue, who portrays Hook, adds, "I think there was always something there between the characters. So it's definitely something that was in the background, and I'm sure it's something some of the fans have wanted to see since my first episode."
Another casting scoop comes from "How I Met Your Mother", which has just tapped James Van Der Beek to return to episode 12 of its final season. The former "Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23" star will reprise his role as Robin's first boyfriend Simon in the episode titled "Bedtime Stories".
He has appeared in several episodes that flashed back to Robin's teen days, during which she was a singing idol known as Robin Sparkles. Further details of the episode are not available just yet.
