When asked about the diamond sparkler on her left ring finger, the 'Nashville' star says, 'I think it speaks for itself.'
Hayden Panettiere said she did get betrothed to beau Wladimir Klitschko. She confirmed the engagement on "Live! with Kelly and Michael" Wednesday, October 9, just a few days after the heavyweight boxer successfully defended his world title against Alexander Povetkin in Moscow.
She made an unusual entrance on the show with a giant boa constrictor wrapped around her, in an attempt to spook Michael Strahan who was afraid of snake. "I'm sort of distracted, not just by the snake, but there's a very large diamond ring on your ring finger," Kelly Ripa said, referring to Panettiere's new sparkler.
"I'm not sure if you want to announce anything ... does that signify anything, is that a promise of something?" Ripa grilled the "Nashville" star. "It might be ... I mean, I think it speaks for itself," she coyly replied. When the host pressed, "Are you engaged?" the blonde beauty confirmed, "I am."
She said she hadn't picked a date just yet, blaming her busy schedule. This will be a first marriage for her. She previously dated her "Heroes" co-star Milo Ventimiglia and "One Tree Hill" actor Stephen Colletti. She was linked to NFL player Scotty McKnight before getting back together with Klitschko.
Panettiere, 24, and Klitschko, 37, first met in 2009 at a book party. They broke up in 2011 before giving their romance another chance in January this year. The couple sparked engagement rumor in March and she fueled it by rocking a huge rock on her left ring finger.
"It's like the 2.0 version," she once told Glamour about their reconciliation. "I've always had great relationships and stayed really good friends with the guys I've dated. It blows my mind sometimes that us getting together has gotten so much attention. It's like, Really? This is breaking news?"
