Liam Payne has been receiving support from his fans following the death of his grandfather. The sad news emerged on Twitter on Wednesday, October 2, prompting One Direction's fans to create #RIPGrandpaPayne and #StayStrongLiam trending hashtags on Twitter to express their sympathies.
Payne took to Twitter to thank his devoted followers. "Thanks for everyone's support at this hard time obviously this has been a tough few weeks for me I've never been through anything like this... And your support means the world so thanks guys," he wrote. Reports suggest that Payne missed his grandfather's funeral because he was in a tour in Australia alongside his bandmates.
In other news, One Direction has announced that the group is going to host a seven-hour live broadcast as a part of 1D Day. According to press release, 1D Day will allow fans "from different countries and time-zones the chance to interact with the band."
The show will be broadcast from Los Angeles on Saturday, November 23. It apparently will feature special guests, sketches and fan-generated contents. One Direction's third album "Midnight Memories" will be released on November 25.
