The 'Django Unchained' actor is in talks to play the bad guy, while the 'Amazing Spider-Man' actress is one of the contenders to portray the female lead.

Warner Bros. is reportedly having its eyes set on Christoph Waltz and Emma Stone for major roles in its new take on "Tarzan". Rumor has it, the former is offered to play the baddie and the latter is wanted to portray the King of Jungle's leading lady, Jane.

Rumor has it, the "Django Unchained" actor is in talks to play an army figure who crosses paths with Tarzan. "True Blood" hunk Alexander Skarsgard has been tapped to play the handsome jungle man in the new reimagining of the classic Edgar Rice Burroughs hero.

Besides courting Stone who has her hands full with "The Amazing Spider-Man 2", "Birdman" and Woody Allen's next movie, all planned for 2014 release, WB is reportedly approaching "The Wolf of Wall Street" star Margot Robbie for the Jane role.

David Yates is on board as the director and executive producer. John August ("Dark Shadows", "Frankenweenie"), Cormac & Marianne Wibberley ("National Treasure") and Adam Cozad ("Jack Ryan: Shadow One") are working on the script.

Words are, they are eying a summer start date and looking to shape up the cast ensemble before seeking the green light from the board members this November.
