The trailer gives glimpses at the things that Long's character does to get the attention of the girl he's crushing on.
"A Case of You", a new romcom produced and led by Justin Long, has just got its first trailer and official poster. He plays a writer who runs out of idea and is skeptical of finding the one until he meets a cute and quirky barista, played by Evan Rachel Wood.
After a bit of cyberstalking, he adjusts his online profile faking his interests and hobbies to match her specific likes and dislikes. It leads him to do things he never did before, which includes cooking, taking judo class, learning how to play guitar and rock climbing.
The film is written by Long with his brother Christian and co-star Keir O'Donnell, inspired by their personal experiences of going through past breakups. "We just started writing it therapeutically. We have a very close sense of humor and it kind of came from that," he told EW.
"If there is a twist in our movie, it would be that he gets her very early on and then has to deal with the reality of having someone. That was something that I've always found interesting. Once the chase and the fantasy of the pursuit has worn off, or has ended just by virtue of being with that person, the real romance and the real struggle of maintaining that kind of begins," he explained.
After being featured at the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival, the movie will opens for limited release on November 6. Directed by Kat Coiro, it has Sienna Miller, Brendan Fraser, Peter Dinklage, Busy Philipps, Vince Vaughn and Sam Rockwell in the supporting roles.
