The U2 bassist is expected to throw a lavish party in France this coming weekend to celebrate his wedding.
Adam Clayton is officially a married man. BBC reports that the 53-year-old musician tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend Mariana Teixeira De Carvalho at a Dublin registry office on Wednesday, September 4. "Adam Clayton is delighted to confirm that he married Mariana De Carvalho today in Dublin," a rep confirms to Billboard.
The U2 bassist is rumored marrying the Brazilian model in a low-key ceremony attended by his bandmate The Edge and his wife Morleigh Steinberg. It's unclear if the rest of the band members Bono and Larry Mullen Jr. were present, but the newlyweds are expected to celebrate their union with 150 guests in France in a lavish three-day reception starting on Friday.
Clayton reportedly proposed to Mariana at Carnival in Brazil earlier this year after dating for four years. He was previously engaged to supermodel Naomi Campbell in 1994, but they called it off after only a few months of dating.
