White's girlfriend Tania Mehra says that the basketball player 'assaulted her after she became angered by his advances toward her friend.'

AceShowbiz - NBA player Royce White is under investigation after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend Tania Mehra. According to a TMZ report, Mehra filed a police report on August 30, saying that she suffered from a laceration because of the athlete.

The alleged domestic violence took place at White's house in Houston on June 22. At that time, Mehra told the police that she sustained a cut above her right eye because of "accidental fall." The model, however, changed her statement and blamed White for the injury.

"The victim said she had lied earlier because the suspect played for the NBA and did not want the incident to damage his career," the authorities said. "The victim stated that White had assaulted her after she became angered by his advances toward her friend."

According to a source, Mehra also said that White threw a candleholder at her. It missed the target and smashed a mirror instead. White's representative declined to comment on the accusation.

In other news, the basketball player recently announced partnership of his non-profit organization Anxious Mind's Inc. with Bee Busy Wellness Center to create Royce White Institute of Mental Health. The 22-year-old athlete, who suffers from anxiety disorder, hoped that every city could provide free mental healthcare. The mental institution will open in January 2014, according to the Houston Chronicle.
