Songwriter Sean Garrett, who confirms the collaboration, says that the two former Disney stars are working on a 'fun and exciting music.'

AceShowbiz - Miley Cyrus has enlisted Britney Spears for a new track in her upcoming new album, "Bangerz". Songwriter Sean Garrett, who confirmed the news, shared the details about the collaboration in a recent interview with Vibe.

"It's fun, exciting [music]. We got one with that Britney," Garrett, who has penned songs for everyone from Beyonce Knowles to Nicki Minaj, told the site. He went on explaining how Spears ended up being featured in Cyrus' follow-up to 2010's "Can't Be Tamed".

Garrett said that he was working on a track with Cyrus and Mike Will Made It when they came up with a great idea, which required Spears' involvement.

"Shoutout to my man Mike Will, but Mike Will, Miley and me just got in the studio and wanted to make it the biggest record possible," he continued. "It's just a pleasure to be working with some icons like that."

Collaborating with Spears is probably a dream comes true for Cyrus. The 20-year-old singer has expressed her admiration for fellow former Disney star in several interviews. Cyrus' nude two-piece at MTV VMA was apparently also inspired by Spears' flesh-colored outfit she wore at the same event back in 2000.

In another Cyrus news, Disney alum and Spears' infamous ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake defended the "We Can't Stop" hitmaker's controversial VMA performance. During an interview with Fresh 102.7 radio on Tuesday, August 27, the former NSYNC member said, "I like Miley. I like her a lot. I think, you know, she's young. She's letting everybody know that she's growing up."

"I just think it's the VMAs. It's not like she did it at the Grammys. Let her do her thing, you know?" he added, asking everyone to leave Cyrus alone.
