Liam Payne rips Harry Styles' ex-girlfriend, 'I just thought it was a bit not needed. I mean, you just won an award, it's like, concentrate on yourself!'

AceShowbiz - One Direction has responded to Taylor Swift's Best Female Video acceptance speech that appeared to diss Harry Styles. One member, Liam Payne, gave his two cents on the subject when attending the New York premiere of their documentary movie "One Direction: This Is Us" with the other boys, one day after the MTV Video Music Awards.

"When she said those things about Niall [Horan], we were very, very pissed off," Payne jokingly told Vulture, before adding a burning note, "Hashtag get over it." Another member Louis Tomlinson also cracked a similar joke to Us Weekly, "We were a bit confused. We thought she was actually calling out Niall [Horan] so the whole thing's a bit confusing."

Payne additionally said that he almost reenacted the infamous incident four years ago when Swift was cut off by Kanye West who deemed her not good enough to win Best Female Video over Beyonce Knowles. "I was going to do a Kanye! It's the best video of all time!" Payne quipped. So, what stopped him? "Kanye himself," he cracked.

Payne continued defending Style who wouldn't comment on it. Payne went on, "I just thought it was a bit not needed. I mean, you just won an award, it's like, concentrate on yourself!" When a reporter asked if he thought Swift's behavior was "lame," he replied, "Yeah."

Swift caused a buzz on the internet over the weekend during the live broadcast of the VMAs when she was caught on camera mouthing what appeared to be "shut the f**k up" when 1D took the stage to present an award. She later called out one of her exes when winning Best Female Video.

Thanking her fans, the country/pop singer added, "I also want to thank the person who inspired this song because he knows exactly who he is, because now I've got one of these." She didn't mention any names, but the camera panned to an awkward looking Harry chewing gum.

Despite the incidents, the exes appeared to be on friendly terms enough to pose together for a group photo at a VMAs afterparty later that night. They stood on the opposite sides of a group that consisted their mutual friend Ed Sheeran and host of the night DJ Spiky Phil.
