The Rachel Berry depicter thanks series creator Ryan Murphy for casting two of her 'best friends,' Lovato and Phoebe Strole, in season 5.

AceShowbiz - Some new "Glee" casting news has made Lea Michele gleeful. The series regular on the FOX musical series confirms reports that Demi Lovato is going to join the cast of the show in upcoming season 5.

"Such amazing news that two of my very best friends are going to be on #Glee this year! @ddlovato & @PhoebeStrole!" the Rachel Berry depicter tweeted on Thursday, August 22, revealing Phoebe Strole's casting as well. "Thank you @MrRPMurphy!"

TVLine previously reported that Lovato was in talks to portray Dani, a NYC-based struggling artist friend of Rachel and Santana's. She is said to appear in at least six episodes, starting in the second part of The Beatles tribute episode set to air on October 3.

She will interact with Adam Lambert's character and appear in several musical numbers together. E! News additionally learns that the judge on "The X Factor (US)" will sing "Here Comes the Sun" with Santana.

Strole's role, like Lambert's, is still unknown. She took on the role of Anna in the Broadway musical "Spring Awakening" from 2006 to 2008. She had a recurring role as Jennifer on FX's "Rescue Me" and guest starred on "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" and "30 Rock" among other TV shows. She also starred as Epiphany Sellars in 2008's film "Hamlet 2".

"Glee" season 5 premieres Thursday, September 26 on FOX.
