AceShowbiz - "Fred" actor Lucas Cruikshank has received tremendous support from his fans after he reveals his sexual preference in a YouTube video. The support also comes from veteran singer Cher, who sends a private message via Twitter.

"Proud of you!" the "Woman's World" singer wrote on Tuesday, August 20. Lucas shared a screengrab of the shout-out on Twitter as he reacted in a surprised-sounding tweet, "What!?!?" Lucas showed his excitement in another Twitter post later, writing, "THIS IS HOW I FEEL ABOUT CHER DM'ING ME TODAY," and attached an Instagram video of him singing a part of Cher's 1998 song "Believe" happily.

Earlier on Tuesday, the 19-year-old Nickelodeon star said that he was gay in a YouTube video. The video shows him and "Jessie" actress Jennifer Veal in bed, as she and Lucas answer some questions from fans. "Let's get to the questions: First, why do you both look so pretty?" the question reads. "I just don't know," Jennifer answers.

After responding to some other questions, Jennifer reads, "Are you gay?!" Lucas and Jennifer break into giggle fit as the actor remarks, "That's so funny, hearing you say it." The "Marvin Marvin" star adds, "I'm gay. It feels so weird saying it on camera! My friends and family have known for, like, three years, I just haven't felt the need to announce it on the Internet. I feel awkward!"
