The video features a man on a shore and someone who says in a voiceover, 'He arrived knowing nothing of himself. Who is he? Soon he will know.'

AceShowbiz - J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot has recently dropped a teaser for a mystery project. Titled "Stranger", the black-and-white video opens with a scene featuring a man who is washed up on a beach before it shows an eerie shot of a man whose lips are sewn together.

"He arrived knowing nothing of himself. Who is he? Soon he will know," a narrator says in the clip. "Because what begins at the water shall end there. And what ends there shall once more begin. This is what happens: Men become lost; men vanish; men are erased -- and reborn."

Entertainment Weekly, which was first alerted by Bad Robot about the video, asked Abrams for which project the teaser is, but he refused to tell. Speculations have since begun on what the project might be, with some people relating it to his upcoming TV show on NBC, "Believe".

Others linked it to Abrams' new book co-writtten with author Doug Dorst which is simply titled "S". An online commentor noted that the font of the tagline "Soon he will know" in the video is the same as the one in a promotional photo for the book, which is scheduled to be published on October 29.
