The pop star's 'Kick-Ass 2' soundtrack contribution gets an animated superhero cartoon treatment.
Following the premiere of her fun "It's My Party" music video last week, British dance-pop superstar Jessie J drops another new clip, the lyric video of her "Kick-Ass 2" movie soundtrack contribution "Hero". The animated visuals gets released just before the superhero-wannabe film sequel hits theaters on Friday, August 16.
The three-and-a-half-minute clip opens with graphics patterned after the popular opening visuals of any Marvel Studios franchise film. The comic book animation is carried on throughout the rest of the lyric video, perfectly setting the mood and tone for the empowering track, a fitting backdrop for words as "anything is possible," "feeling indestructible" and "fearless."
Written by "The Voice UK" judge herself, "Hero" is the main theme of the upcoming action film sequel. It appears along with thirteen other songs on the soundtrack which is set to be released on August 20.
Apart from throwing in "Hero" for the "Kick-Ass 2" compilation, Jessie J also puts in the single "Magnetic" for another film soundtrack, that of the forthcoming fantasy-action flick "The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones" starring Lily Collins and Jamie Campbell Bower. The "Domino" singer will release her own solo album later this year. Her still-untitled sophomore studio album will include her latest singles "Wild" featuring Big Sean and Dizzee Rascal, "It's My Party" and "Excuse My Rude" featuring Mexican-American rapper/singer Becky G.
