The 'Roar' singer and Katy Cats invade the street and take the subway to Barclays Center, where the prestigious event will take place.
Katy Perry graces the latest promo video for the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards. As seen in the video, the "Roar" singer and her fashionable loyal Katy Cats storm the New York City street. Similar to the Miley Cyrus version, this one tells how the featured artist gets to the show, and as for Perry, she along with her gang catches train.
Perry is set to perform the lead single off her new album, "Prism", for the first time live during the show, airing on August 25 at 9 P.M. ET from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. She joins seven-timer Kanye West and Lady Gaga, who recently dropped her newest upbeat single "Applause" on the web.
Perry is a four-time VMA winner, with her worldwide smash-hit "Firework" snatching the top honor, "Video of the Year", in 2011. She is no stranger to the event stage, having already performed "I Kissed a Girl" at the 2008 show and a cover of Queen's "We Will Rock You" during the 2009 special occasion.
Justin Timberlake and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis lead this year's nominations with six each. Bruno Mars lands four nods while Miley Cyrus gets three.
