With the August 19 release date of her new single "Applause" just around the corner, Lady GaGa is consistently dropping the teasers for her "ARTPOP" lead track. Similar to when she teased about the title of her new album's possible first single, she gets some help again from her make-up artist Tara Savelo who posted the 16-second teaser clip online.
It basically featured a pink and purple stuffed toy that sounded off a note each time it was pressed, supposedly churning out the melody to the forthcoming tune. Over the weekend, GaGa herself released a snippet of the song, after hackers apparently leaked her new single, around the time Katy Perry's own "Roar" single was heard online earlier than its intended release date.
Mother Monster was apparently pissed at those spoilers as she unloaded a series of tweets directed especially to them, where she wrote, "Lord, in HEAVEN WHY. YOU JUST COULDN'T WAIT THIS IS TOO MUCH FOR ONE SATURDAY." She also made a shout out to Perry, saying, "Wanna grab some shovels and f**k up some hackers? @katyperry excited to hear you ROAR," and added at the end of her message to address Perry's giant gold promotional truck that got crashed onto by a drunk driver in a Walmart parking lot in Pennsylvania, "...sorry to hear about your truck!"
Perry responded, "@ladygaga what a WILD weekend so far...Claws out, paws up! Looking forward to putting my hands up & making them touch too!" eloquently referring to GaGa's "Applause" single.
