LAPD says that the former 'King of Queens' star's missing person report has been closed as detectives who investigate the case have seen and met with Shelly Miscavige in person.

AceShowbiz - Former Scientologist Leah Remini recently filed a missing person report for Shelly Miscavige, the wife of current Scientology leader David Miscavige. News of her LAPD filing was first reported by anti-Scientology journalist Tony Ortega, who claimed that Shelly hadn't been seen in public in six years.

Tony said that Leah began questioning Shelly's whereabouts after noticing her absence from Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' wedding back in 2006. When Leah asked about it, then-church spokesman Tommy Davis told her that she didn't "have the f**king rank to ask about Shelly."

Tony also reported that in late 2005 or early 2006, Shelly was transferred to a secret compound near Lake Arrowhead in Los Angeles, where dozens of Scientologiests are reportedly cut off from the outside world. Her exact location remains unknown, but Shelly is said to be in good health.

A spokesperson for the Church of Scientology has reacted to Leah's filing. "This is just harassment. It is a publicity stunt cooked up by a small band of unemployed fanatics who live on the fringe of the Internet," the spokesperson said in a statement. "The Church and the attorney for Mrs. Miscavige have already responded to this ludicrous claim."

The Los Angeles Police Department has confirmed that Leah filed the report. However, the case is now closed as an LAPD spokesman said that detectives, who were investigating the case, had seen and met with Shelly in person. "The LAPD has classified the report as unfounded, indicating that Shelly is not missing," said Detective Gus Villanueva.

After exiting Scientology last month, Leah has been very vocal about going against the religion she was born and raised into. Last week, she revealed her plan to pen a tell-all memoir about her experience with Scientology. "It will include my experiences, everything that's taboo to talk about," the 43-year-old actress said of her upcoming book.
