The singer's new single artwork makes use of clear-cut references of tiger stripes and a roaring close-up.

AceShowbiz - After three under-30-second teaser clips, pop superstar Katy Perry unveils the artwork for her forthcoming "Prism" album's lead single "Roar". The 28-year-old singer shared the image via Twitter just days away from the new song's scheduled debut on August 12.

"!! ATTENTION UK !! EXCLUSIVELY for u guys, be the 1ST ones to see the #ROAR artwork NOW by pre-ordering single HERE: https://po.st/RoarUKiTunes," Perry tweeted on Thursday morning, August 8 to reveal the new artwork. It has the singer showing off the back of her blue jacket bearing a roaring tiger's face, highlighted only by the word "roar" in gold uppercase written vertically on the right side of the shot, framed in tiger stripes.

In the image, Perry sports the same dark hair and somewhat blank expression that she had in her first two teasers where she burned and buried her past "Teenage Dream" image. By the time the third teaser came out, Perry was already doing some feline referencing but of a much milder kind, via a sofa-hopping white cat as compared to the wild cat variety in the artwork.

It seems like she's got it all figured out, how she's going to lead her KatyCats towards her transformation from her wig and peppermint swirls corset-wearing image to her post-"California Gurls" new persona, to match the "more mature" music and the "new approach" she's taking as an artist.
