Avril Lavigne has premiered her new single, "Rock N Roll", on her new website. Produced by Max Martin, the upbeat song was co-penned by Avril, Chad Kroeger, David Hodges, Richard Goransson, Jacob Hindlin and Peter Svensson.
The 28-year-old singer is inviting her fans to join her lyric video project. She has asked fans to create their lyric graphics or lyric interpretation of "Rock N Roll" and post it on Instagram. The lyric is provided on the website as well.
Avril has also unveiled the artwork for the single. "Here it is - the cover for Rock N' Roll!" she captioned an image of her wearing black leather pants and jacket while sitting in a big leather red chair.
"Rock N Roll" is the latest single off Avril's upcoming fifth album. It follows up her hit, "Here's to Never Growing Up", which peaked at No. 20 on Billboard Hot 100. Currently untitled, Avril's new album is scheduled to arrive in September via Epic Records.
"To me it's rock and roll, it's a way of life - it's a fashion, it's a spirit and it's also very similar to the first single," Avril said of her new single in a May interview with 4Music.
"You know, the rock and roll spirit like, 'WOOOO!' and going all out. And it's LOUD, impressive and it stands for so many other things than just music -that's really what it comes down to," she added.
