The group makes their comeback by dropping a new single from their upcoming album of the same title.
The Backstreet Boys are back and they made it known today on "Good Morning America" as they premiered the music video for their new single "In a World like This". The clip features all five original members, Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, A.J. McLean and Kevin Richardson, as if they never aged despite some of them already pushing 40, but they did seem to have matured with the years as their new song has quite a deep message.
With the quintet performing from the scenic outdoors, the almost four-minute visuals features several important events in American history such as the first moon landing, the 9/11 terrorist attacks and most recently, marriage equality. Said McLean about the clip, "The concept of the video is based on the song, which tells a story of how love conquers all and 'in a world like this' that we live in, with all the craziness and negative energy that can go around, with real love you can overcome anything."
McLean added that by highlighting marriage equality in their new music video, "BSB wants to show our support for the LGBT community and we believe that two people of the same sex should have the right to get married. Gay marriage has been a long-standing issue and recently the LGBT community celebrated the U.S. Supreme Court ruling that gave legally married same-sex couples the same federal rights as heterosexual couples."
The popular '90s boyband is also set to release a new album of the same title on July 30 to mark their 20th anniversary in the music industry. They will also have a tour to support the album that begins on August 2 in Chicago.
