The former 'American Idol' judge shares video of her leaving hospital after being admitted for dislocated shoulder and cracked ribs following a fall on the set of a music video.
Mariah Carey is recovering at home after injuring her shoulder while filming a music video for the remix of "#Beauty" with Young Jeezy. She got discharged from hospital after doctors reset her shoulder. The former "American Idol" judge recently shared a video of her being wheeled out with her arm in sling.
In the black-and-white video, Mariah tells the camera, "Well, that was fun." She is surrounded by members of security team and nurses as she reaches her car. In the midst of nurses' instructions telling her to be careful with her steps, she said that she would be going back to the filming set.
"Thanks all for the well wishes <3 Still in a lot of pain - cracked rib, fractured shoulder, bruises everywhere, but the show must go on," she wrote on Twitter on July 11. The mother of two added, "In a sling, but will do my best to make it look good [with] the ensemble Sat [with] the NY philharmonic, an amazing honor for such a great cause."
The "Through the Rain" singer was rushed to hospital on Sunday, July 7, after dislocating her shoulder on the filming set. During an appearance on "Today" show, Nick Cannon revealed details of his wife's "pretty serious" injuries.
"Not only did she dislocate her shoulder, she actually cracked a rib and ... she chipped her shoulder bone," he said. The "America's Got Talent" host recalled the accident, "She was in this nice, beautiful gown, heels on and everything, and was kind of on this platform and reached and slipped and fell on her whole side."
Mariah is set to perform at a free concert with Major League Baseball to benefit Hurricane Sandy Relief in Central Park's Great Lawn on July 13. She apparently will carry out her schedule with her arm in sling.
