Pearl Jam's countdown clock hit zero on Thursday, July 11, with the band announcing their new album, "Lightning Bolt", would arrive on October 15. Set to drop via Monkeywrench Records/Republic Records, the follow-up to 2009's "Backspacer" is produced by Brendan O'Brien, who has worked with the band on their eight previous albums.
Along with the announcement of "Lightning Bolt", the band posted a trailer for the new album on their YouTube channel. In the 41-second trailer, the band is shown in the studio for the recording process.
Pearl Jam also released the first single off their upcoming album. They posted the single cover on their official Twitter page. The song entitled "Mind Your Manners" is now available for digital download on the band's official website.
Previously, Pearl Jam announced that they would hit the road for a two-leg, 24-date North American tour. The first leg of the tour will begin in Pittsburgh on October 11 and finish at the New Orlean's Voodoo Music and Arts Experience on November 3.
The second leg will kick off in Dallas on November 15 and wrap up in their hometown of Seattle on December 6. The tickets for Pearl Jam's North American dates will go on sale on July 27.
The band is currently preparing themselves to play two sold-out concerts in Ontario and Chicago on July 16 and 19, respectively.
