James Franco to Get Roasted on Comedy Central

James Franco
The 'Oz the Great and Powerful' actor breaks the news via an Instagram video, saying, 'I'm gonna get roasted on Comedy Central. Be sure to check it out.'

James Franco will be the subject of industry pals' jokes in the next edition of Comedy Central Roast. The actor/writer/director takes to Twitter and Instagram to announce that he will get roasted on the network's upcoming TV special.

"Hey y'all, what's up? I'm gonna get roasted on Comedy Central," he says in an Instagram video posted on July 9. "Be sure to check it out. They wanted me to tell you that." Details about who will join the roast and when the show will air are not available as of press time.

Franco is the latest star to get roasted on Comedy Central. Previously, comedienne Roseanne Barr, actor Charlie Sheen and property tycoon Donald Trump were mocked, and honored at the same time, by fellow celebrities on the channel.

The 35-year-old Academy Award-nominated actor's latest big-screen credits include "Oz the Great and Powerful", "Spring Breakers" and "This Is the End". He will next be seen in "Lovelace", where he portrays young Hugh Hefner, and "As I Lay Dying", in which he also serves as the writer and director.
