Fifty-one lovely ladies will compete for the title that will be passed on by 2012 winner Nana Meriwether.
An aspiring U.S. ambassador and secretary of state, an "American Idol" season ten top 100 qualifier, and an NFL cheerleader for the New Orleans Saints are among the fifty-one candidates vying for the title of this year's Miss U.S.A. The annual beauty pageant will choose among the contestants representing each of the fifty states plus the District of Columbia as to who will wear the crown going into the next Miss Universe beauty pageant.
Who among the lovely ladies aged between 18 to 27 years old will end up as this year's titleholder? Will it be Miss Universe Olivia Culpo's fellow Rhode Island native Brittany Stenovitch who dreams of becoming a successful international celebrity stylist or Miss U.S.A. 2012 Nana Meriwether's hometown girl Kasey Staniszewski, a movie buff whose all-time favorite is "The Sound of Music".
The decision will rest in the hands of the judges from the worlds of music, TV and fashion which include singer and TV personality Christina Milian, comedian and political satirist Mo Rocca, and designer Betsey Johnson. TV's biggest celebrities also sitting in the judging panel are "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Nene Leakes, "Hot in Cleveland" star Wendie Malick, and "The Biggest Loser" trainer Bob Harper.
With the slogan "Confidently Beautiful", the 2013 Miss U.S.A. pageant will take place this coming Sunday, June 16 at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers will be hosting together with E! News co-anchor Giuliana Rancic.
