The upcoming thriller film from director/writer Scott Walker and producer 50 Cent also stars Nicolas Cage as a detective and John Cusack as a serial killer.
A new trailer (via Yahoo! Movies) for Scott Walker-directed "The Frozen Ground" opens with an introduction from its star Vanessa Hudgens. Intense and quite dramatic, the video presents Hudgens as an erotic dancer who luckily escapes from attempted murder. Turning to Nicolas Cage for help, the two team up to track down the killer.
Cage takes on the leading role as Alaskan detective Glenn Flothe, who sets out to end the murderous rampage of Robert Hansen. As the bodies of street girls start to add up in Anchorage, Flothe goes on a personal manhunt to find him before the next body surfaces. With key information from a seventeen-year-old escapee, Flothe trails the killer in hopes of bringing him to justice.
John Cusack villainizes the upcoming feature with his portrayal of Robert Hansen, the serial killer who has gone unnoticed for 13 years. Joining him for supporting roles are Radha Mitchell, Dean Norris, Jodi Lyn O'Keefe and 50 Cent, who also serves as a producer for the project.
On board to co-produce the film are Randall Emmett, George Furla, Mark Ordesky and Jane Fleming.
Distributed by Lionsgate, "The Frozen Ground" will arrive in theaters across the nation on August 23.
