The former 'American Idol' judge defends the provocative attire she wore while performing 'Live It Up', saying 'it was a bodysuit.'

AceShowbiz - In a radio interview with BBC Radio 1 host Scott Mills, Jennifer Lopez spoke to defend the sexy black costume she wore during her recent performance on "Britain's Got Talent". The 43-year-old entertainer received complaints from some viewers who thought her outfit was too provocative for TV.

"It was a body suit," Lopez said. "A lot of performers wear those these days. It's stage clothes. I'm not going to walk down the street like that." Perhaps it was not just the risque attire that got the dance-pop superstar into her latest controversy but more so the hot and steamy dance moves she was making while wearing her black ensemble of a fur bolero and thigh-high boots.

But J.Lo was quick to reassure everyone that she made sure nothing untoward would have happened during her live performance of her new single "Live It Up" on the hit talent competition show. When Mills asked her if she was wearing anything "under those fishnets to prevent a wardrobe malfunction," Lopez answered with a quick, "Sure. Absolutely."

Lopez was surprised herself by the backlash that has gone her way after her guest performance. "I wore the same outfit on the Billboard Awards in red and it didn't seem to cause any controversy there, so I felt pretty safe," she said.

Complaints poured in after viewers watched her performance, saying it was not fit for TV's general audience, despite it being shown past 9:30 in the evening. In spite of the criticism, J.Lo stood by her performance and went as far as saying, "I'll wear whatever I'll feel like I guess" for her upcoming performances.
