The rapper's follow-up to debut album 'Based on a T.R.U. Story' will come out on September 10.
Georgia rapper 2 Chainz has earned the reputation as the king of features for his guest verses on the hit tracks of other hip-hop superstars as Kanye West, Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne. But the busy MC is now going to be forced to slow down on the cameos if he is to make it to the September 10 release date of his next album, just two days before his 36th birthday.
"FEATURES ON HAULT... NEW ALBUM ON THE WAY SEPTEMBER TENTH!!!!" the Def Jam Records label artist tweeted Thursday evening. The rap star's forthcoming album is only his sophomore studio effort, his next release after his 2012 debut LP "Based on a T.R.U. Story" that spawned the hits "No Lie" featuring Drake, "Birthday Song", and "I'm Different".
"Based on a T.R.U. Story" arrived at the top of the Billboard 200 album chart with the 147,000 copies sold in its debut sales week. It landed him 3 Grammy nominations including Best Rap Album and four trophies at the BET Hip-Hop Awards, along with other related achievements such as an Adidas deal and Source Magazine's "Man of the Year" title last year.
Prior to his debut album, 2 Chainz made a guest appearance in West's single, "Mercy" and Minaj's "Beez in the Trap". More recently, he was featured along with Beyonce Knowles in The-Dream's latest single "Turnt" and a couple of months before that, in Wayne's "Rich as F*ck".
