The Robert Pattinson starrer earns seven nods with 'Iron Man 3' and 'Les Miserables' trailing behind with six nominations each.
The 2013 Teen Choice Awards has announced its first wave of nominations in movie. Leading with a total of seven nominations is "The Twilight Saga's Breaking Dawn Part II". The romance flick is in a tight competition with "Iron Man 3" and "Les Miserables" which earns six nods each.
Among other categories, "Breaking Dawn Part II" and "IM3" are up for Choice Movie: Sci-Fi/Fantasy, facing off such strong contenders as Tom Cruise's "Oblivion", James Franco's "Oz: The Great and Powerful" and Alden Ehrenreich's "Beautiful Creatures".
For Choice Movie: Action category, "IM3" has to beat the likes of "G.I. Joe: Retaliation", "Skyfall", "The Bourne Legacy" and "The Dark Knight Rises" to win the award. As for Robert Downey Jr., he is going head to head with Christian Bale, Daniel Craig, Chris Hemsworth and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in Choice Movie Actor: Action.
"Breaking Dawn Part II" boys Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner are up for Choice Movie Actor: Sci-Fi/Fantasy, which lists Cruise, Downey Jr. and Franco as their strong opponents. Kristen Stewart, meanwhile, is nominated for Choice Movie Actress: Romance opposite Jessica Biel, Alice Englert, Julianne Hough and Amanda Seyfried.
"Argo", which sends its star Ben Affleck to compete in Choice Movie Actor: Drama, has to beat "Les Miserables", "The Great Gatsby", "The Impossible" and "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" to take home the Choice Movie: Drama award trophy.
Held on August 11, the 2013 Teen Choice Awards will celebrate the hottest teen icons in television, music, film, sports, fashion, comedy and the web. Fans can vote for the winners at www.teenchoiceawards.com. The ceremony will air live on FOX at 8:00-10:00 P.M. ET.
