Katherine Thurston has alarmed the 'Wolverine' actor when she reached into her pants and grabbed a razor filled with body hair.
A crazed female fan of Hugh Jackman has been arrested. Katherine Thurston, 47, was charged with stalking "The Wolverine" actor after chasing him when he was working out at a gym in the West Village, New York City Saturday morning, April 13.
The woman allegedly slipped past the front door, crying and professing her love for Jackman. She reached into her pants and grabbed an electric razor full of hair clippings, but she was stopped by a gym employee before reaching the Australian hunk.
"The razor fell out of her hands when I stepped in between them," Mike Castle, a trainer at Gotham Gym, said. The actor himself "was more alarmed than scared" fearing that she would grab a weapon from her pants, publicist Alan Nierob told CNN Sunday.
Jackman allegedly asked the obsessed fan not to touch him. She left after security arrived, but police later caught up with her a couple blocks away and arrested her. She was charged with fourth-degree stalking and taken to Manhattan Criminal Court to wait for her arraignment.
Jackman suspected that Thurston had been stalking him for some time. He once saw her outside his seven-year-old daughter's elementary school in Manhattan and outside his home in the West Village, where he lives with his wife Deborra-Lee Furness.
According to New York Post, his stalker was listed at a Harlem shelter for the mentally ill. "I suppose for me the primary concern is my family, obviously," the actor told CBS New York. "But, you know, here's a woman who obviously needs help, so I just hope she gets the help she needs."
