Jack Black got roasted by fellow celebrities like Sarah Silverman, Oliver Platt and Bob Saget at the Friar's Club in New York Hilton and Towers on April 5. The comedian dropped his pants as he accepted his trophy from Saget on the red carpet.
Silverman, his co-star in "The School of Rock", joked, "Jack is a really shy guy. He really prefers to be left alone, which is why he made 'Nacho Libre'. John Mayer wrote one of his most famous songs about Jack Black, 'Your Body Needs a Wonderbra'."
Platt, who shared screen with the guest of honor in 2009's "Year One", said onstage during the event, "I'm not a comedian. I hate it when these things get mean. I would never do something like call Sarah Silverman an (expletive)."
Black himself pretended to flee the stage and had security bring him back in front of audience that included Dee Snider and Gene Simmons. "Right now I feel like, let it rip. I'm made of cement. But I'm sure I'm wrong," the 43-year-old actor said as quoted by USA Today.
Despite known as a funnyman in the industry, he was not a merry jokester at home. "I can bring the discipline as well. Fifteen more minutes of screen time and that's it. I've said that a lot. I put on the alarm," the father of two explained.
Lots of the jokes that night were relatively tame, which was explained by host Saget. "I don't want to do anything that hurts somebody too much," he reasoned. "You go for the gutter and the gut." He still managed to mock the Kardashians though, delivering a Kim Kardashian sex joke.
Of Black, he said, "There's no one like Jack Black. I'm sorry, I read that wrong. What I meant was, no one likes Jack Black," to huge chuckles from audience.
