The cable channel orders a new season of the medieval drama series after the third season premiere posted the biggest audience for the show with 4.4 million viewers.

Just days after debuting the third season of "Game of Thrones", HBO orders more of the hit drama series. On Tuesday, April 2, the premium cable channel officially announced that it had renewed the critically-acclaimed show for a fourth season.

Details of the fourth season are yet to be shared, but it is likely that the story will capture the events in back half of the third book in George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" series, "A Storm of Swords".

"Game of Thrones" hit series high with its third season premiere, which drew 4.4 million viewers, according to early data. It's up 4% from previous series high posted by the second season finale (4.2 million) and up 13% from the season 2 opener (3.9 million).

Also eagerly waiting the new season premiere, at least one million people who don't subscribe to HBO ilegally downloaded the March 31 episode titled "Valar Dohaeris" via speedy BitTorrent protocol. According to TorrentFreak, a few hours after the first torrent of the show was uploaded, "163,088 people were sharing one single torrent. 110,303 were sharing a complete copy of that particular torrent while 52,786 were still downloading."
