'Evil Dead' Debuts WonderCon Trailer and First Clip
Movie

The first clip from the R-rated horror movie sees Jessica Lucas's Olivia shocked by a broken window when frantically trying to tend to a wound.

AceShowbiz - "Evil Dead" is heading to WonderCon and has just released an announcement trailer to hype up the upcoming event. Producers Bruce Campbell and Robert Tapert as well as director Federico Alvarez invite people to attend the promotional event which runs from March 29-31 in Anaheim, California.

After the brief intro, scenes from the movie play. Still highlighting the creepy and haunting tone of the movie, it is much tamer compared to the red band trailer released earlier this year. Though so, mysterious death and dripping blood are still everywhere to be seen in the video.

Additionally, the first clip of the movie has made its way out online and it isn't gory either. The snippet features Jessica Lucas's Olivia frantically attempting to tend to a wound in a bathroom, but gets shocked when a mirror above the sink is mysteriously slammed and broken into piece.

A remake of the 1981 cult-hit horror film of the same title, "Evil Dead" centers on five twenty-something friends who become holed up in a remote cabin. When they discover a Book of the Dead, they unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.

Sam Raimi, who directed the original movie, joins the producing team with Campbell and Tapert, while Alvarez, Diablo Cody and Rodolfo Sayagues write the script. Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, Lou Taylor Pucci and Elizabeth Blackmore star in the R-rated thriller, which is going to grace theaters across the nation on April 5.
