The twenty-year-old 1D member denies rumors that he's about to leave the highly successful boyband.
After news spread that One Direction member Zayn Malik was considering to quit the group, a representative for the band has now come out with a swift denial on behalf of the chiseled heartthrob. 1D's PR company has issued an official statement slamming the rumors, saying that it's totally untrue.
"It's completely untrue, Zayn isn't leaving the band," the statement read out, completely putting an end to earlier speculations spread by certain insiders that there's "growing concern among the bosses that Zayn is on the brink at the moment."
Malik is said to be currently upset that he found himself in a cheating scandal. Reports surfaced that he cheated on his 19-year-old girlfriend Perrie Edwards, a member of the British pop group Little Mix, with an Australian waitress/stripper named Courtney Webb.
Malik has since denied the cheating rumors, even enlisting the help of his One Direction band mates in what seems to be a public apology or expression of loyalty last week, which Edwards accepted. After that brief but stressful episode, the 20-year-old 1D member purportedly wanted to take a break from the band, to de-stress and spend more time with his girlfriend.
However, that would have to be shelved for now as Malik and his One Direction group mates are set to perform in the forthcoming Brit Awards. They are also in the thick of their involvement with Comic Relief's Red Nose Day charity event, recently releasing their new single, a cover of Blondie's "One Way or Another".
