JT makes a grand return as he takes the stage in front of star-studded crowd that include Paul McCartney, Sofia Vergara and John Legend on Super Bowl's eve.
It's been years since Justin Timberlake released new song and performed it live for fans, but after all these years of absence, he hasn't lost his charm. The singer-turned-actor was joy to watch as he kicked off his first "20/20 Experience" live on a high note in New Orleans Saturday night, February 2 ahead of highly-anticipated Super Bowl.
JT delivered top-notched performances at the DirectTV-sponsored gig. The former NSYNC member balanced his setlist between getting the party going with the familiars and giving them a taste of what his new album would be with some brand new tunes along with similarly dapper 15-piece group The Tennessee Kids as his backing band.
Rocking a black tux and a bowtie, the husband of Jessica Biel didn't disappoint. He got the crowd hooked right from the start as he opened the concert with his 2002 single "Like I Love You" and continued reliving his glory days, which he's ready to extend, with other hits like "Cry Me a River", "FutureSex/LoveSound", "Rock Your Body", and "What Comes Around…".
Comeback single "Suit & Tie" was performed with Jay-Z as a featured guest. "Pusher Lover Girl" and "That Girl" were other treats in his attempt to get the crowd that included the great Paul McCartney, the goofy Sofia Vergara, the immaculate John Legend, and the New England Patriots owner Bob Kraft, acquainted with his new work.
Speaking a little about the Sunday's big game, the ex-boybander managed to do cover of other artists' songs during the gig. He played a rendition of INXS' "What You Need" and did his spot-on version of The Jacksons' "Shake Your Body (Down to the Ground)" with their signature moves. He later sent the crowd home while bringing the sexy back with Timbaland.
For more live JT performances, a slot at the Grammy Awards and at the Hollywood Palladium has already been booked. A gig at the upcoming BRIT Awards is also allegedly scheduled across the pond.
