The special episode hosted by the 'Invictus' actor scored a rating success, ranking No. 1 among all late-night programs on January 24.

AceShowbiz - "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" special episode hosted by Matt Damon will receive a special airing treatment. The January 24 outing will have a primetime encore Tuesday, January 29 at 10 P.M. ET on ABC, giving a chance for more people to watch the star-studded edition.

The primetime encore isn't too much considering the fact that the episode proved to be successful. It ranked No. 1 among all late-night programs with 2.92 rating in households and 1.23 rating in the 18-49 demo.

The Thursday outing of "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" featured Damon taking over the show after kidnapping the host Jimmy Kimmel. It had Nicole Kidman, Demi Moore, Gary Oldman, Amy Adams, Sarah Silverman and more as guests, with Andy Garcia, Ben Affleck, Sheryl Crow, Reese Witherspoon and Robin Williams making appearances as well.

Speaking after the episode aired, executive producer Jill Leiderman revealed the idea to get Damon hijacking "JKL" came four years ago. "From the moment we discussed it, we always knew he would host the entire show," he told TV Guide, "but we didn't want it to get out there early because we wanted the surprise for our audience, that when they tuned in Matt had hijacked the show."

On how they managed to gather a bunch of A-listers for the special, he revealed, "Our talent bookers worked around the clock. Matt himself chipped in and called friends. There were friends of Jimmy's on the show, friends of Matt's, friends that they have in common, as well as other celebrity guests that we brought in as well to really prove that when Matt hosted the show we were able to blow the roof off the dump."
