First 'The East' Trailer Boasts Threatening Message From Anarchists

The intense trailer sees a mysterious anarchist collective attacking major corporations which they deem 'guilty' for damaging the environment.

AceShowbiz - An intense first trailer for "The East" has been dropped online. Compiling random footage of some politicians, a group of youngsters, graffiti, polluted river and more, the promo video focuses on a serious message sent by the titular gang who vow to bring "guilty" people and corporates to justice.

The thriller movie itself follows an operative for an elite private intelligence firm that goes into deep cover to infiltrate a mysterious anarchist collective attacking major corporations. Bent on apprehending these fugitives, she finds her loyalty tested as her feelings grow for the group's charismatic leader.

An official selection of the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, "The East" is directed by Zal Batmanglij, who also pens the script alongside Brit Marling. Marling additionally stars in it opposite Alexander Skarsgard, Ellen Page, Julia Ormond, Toby Kebbel, Patricia Clarkson, Shiloh Fernandez and Aldis Hodge.

The film still hasn't got a U.S. release date.
