The R'n'B/hip-hop singer comes out with the new track just in time for the holiday season.
Singer-songwriter and producer Mike Posner has released an acoustic track for the holidays, lovingly dedicating it to his fans by tweeting "wishing you health and happiness in 2013." The track, "Back Home", features a rap verse from Cleveland rapper King Chip.
Posner also reveals an artwork to accompany the audio release, using a Delta airline ticket stub headed from Los Angeles to his native Detroit. The 24-year-old singer waxes sentimental on hiphop-n-more.com, "It's that time of the year where many people are fortunate enough to be able to travel home and spend quality time with the ones they love."
Posner releases his acoustic track in hopes of it being "a soundtrack to your prosperity and happiness in 2013." He says, "It's 8pm Dec 22nd and I just got back to Detroit. My Dad picked me up from the airport. My sister is cooking dinner and yelling at me for already having my headphones on. My Mom is on her way home from work. These words can't express how grateful I am for my family and friends. Everyday I wake up and can't believe my life is real. Hopefully this song can be part of the soundtrack to your prosperity and happiness in 2013. Sincerely, Mike."
Posner co-wrote and co-produced Justin Bieber's Billboard Hot 100 no. 2 single "Boyfriend". He has also written hits for popular rappers/hip-hop artists Big Sean, 2 Chainz, Wiz Khalifa and Snoop Dogg.
