The second season of the U.S. version of 'X Factor' finally names its ultimate champion on Thursday night, December 20.

AceShowbiz - "The X Factor (US)" season 2 has crowned its winner on Thursday night, December 20. The finale was opened when the top 3, Fifth Harmony, Tate Stevens and Carly Rose Sonenclar, sang "All You Need Is Love" as they walked on the red carpet and greeted former contestants before montage for L.A. Reid was shown.

The first finalist to perform was Tate who crooned holiday classic "Bells Will Be Ringing". L.A. said, "I think that you've done an amazing job," and praised Tate's consistency while singing the song. The singer was also supported by his wife and daughter, who cried and said, "Just remember. We're always there for you."

After montage for Simon Cowell, Fifth Harmony took the stage to belt out "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)". The girls looked eye-catchy in red-and-white cady cane-themed costumes while standing next to carousel horses. Following the performance, montage of Britney Spears' funy faces was shown.

Carly then performed on stage, singing "All I Want For Christmas Is You". She was accompanied by drummer-men dancers. Britney loved Carly's performance, while Simon was still amazed because the singer's only 13. Host Khloe Kardashian tried to interview Carly, but the sound of the singer's screaming fans made her inaudible. "It is nearly impossible to call the results," Mario Lopez chimed in.

The third finisher was announced shortly after that, and it went to Fifth Harmony. "You were like little Rockies up here the whole season," Mario commented, while Khloe told the girls, "You guys have best friends for life, huh Camila?" Meanwhile, Simon gushed, "I have a feeling that we're going to be hearing and seeing a lot more of these girls in the future."

Pitbull later took the stage to entertain the audience. Performing with sexy dancers in trenchcoats, the Latin rapper delivered his club-banging hit "Don't Start the Party". Later on, One Direction made the audience went hysterical as they sang "Kiss You".

As the top 2, Carly and Tate entered the stage once again to croon Miley Cyrus' hit "The Climb". L.A. praised Tate's spirit, "Never give up on your dreams. Anything can happen." Once again, Britney had nothing but good words for Carly, gushing that she's really proud of the young singer.

The moment of truth finally came when Mario and Khloe returned to the stage to reveal the winner. It was finally announced that Tate Stevens won the second season of the singing competition show. Though finishing second, Carly was utterly gracious and she went hugging her rival and L.A. Reid.

Overwhelmed with joy, Tate thanked the Lord, FOX Entertainment Chairman Kevin Reilly and gushed that the night was the best day of his life. Mario told the freshly-minted winner that he's surely going to have a life he'd never dreamed of and that his dream had become a reality. He then closed the show as greeting the audience, "We are going to be back next year."
