'Life of Pi', 'The Master', 'Silver Linings Playbook', 'Zero Dark Thirty', 'Lincoln', 'Moonrise Kingdom', 'Beasts of the Southern Wild' are the other films vying for Best Motion Picture gong.

Yet another prestigious prize-giving event announces its nominees for its latest edition. On Monday, December 3, the International Press Academy reveals the nominations for the 17th annual Satellite Awards in both movie and TV categories. In film field, "", "", "", "", "", "" and "" are among the acclaimed titles racing for the coveted Best Motion Picture award.
Vying for Best Actress title are the likes of , , Laura Birn, and . In the Best Actor category, meanwhile, , Omar Sy, , , , and are set to compete against one another.
This year's Satellite Awards cover a total of 31 film and TV categories. Winners of the awards will be announced during a gala on this coming December 16 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Century City. Aside from film and TV, the International Press Academy plans to announce further nominees for DVD and video games.
The upcoming event will also hand out some special awards. Terence Stamp will receive the Mary Pickford Award for outstanding artistic contribution to the entertainment industry, Walter Murch will be honored with the Nikola Tesla Award for visionary achievement in filmmaking technology, Paul Williams will be granted the Auteur Award, Bruce Davison will be given the Honorary Satellite Award, while "" star will receive the Newcomer Award.
