Jepsen crowd surfs during her colorful performance while No Doubt, Rita Ora, Fun. and Taylor Swift rock Festhalle in Frankfurt, Germany with their equally exciting numbers on stage.
This year's MTV European Music Awards proved to be another huge event in music that will go down in history. The awards night in Frankfurt, Germany put together memorable performances from some of today's biggest names in the music scene including Carly Rae Jepsen, Taylor Swift, PSY, No Doubt, Fun., Rita Ora and Alicia Keys.
British singer, Rita Ora, opened the program with a smashing production number for her hit single "R.I.P". She looked attractive in an all-red sparkling jumpsuit while she and her group of back up dancers carried out their dance moves in the middle of cascading sparks and lights effects.
Following the electric opening of Ora was another upbeat performance from rockers Fun. with their anthemic hit "We Are Young". Their performance included a troupe of mannequins amidst the distinct vocals of frontman Nate Ruess.
Soon after the classy Fun. song came two of this year's most notable hits, "Call me Maybe" and "Gangnam Style". Canadian pop star Carly Rae Jepsen dropped her girl-next-door looks for a mature, darker hair color and a vixen style outfit that perfectly suited her crowd-surfing antics during the show. Meanwhile, PSY lived up to his reputation as an outrageous Internet sensation with a crazy performance featuring a David Hasselhoff appearance on a toilet.
Soul singer, Alicia Keys also wowed the crowd with her rendition of "New Day" and "Girl on Fire" while rockers, No Doubt made the audience come alive as they performed "Looking Hot". Other notable artists who performed that night were The Killers with "Runaways", Muse with "Madness" and Latino rapper Pitbull with "Don't Stop the Party".
Taylor Swift drew a close to the Heidi Klum-hosted evening with a circus band leader-inspired outfit and her break-up song, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together".
