Sienna Miller has given birth to her first child last summer, but those who missed her baby bump can now see it in a real-life portrait by artist Jonathan Yeo. Wearing nothing but her birthday suit, the fiancee of Tom Sturridge shows off her pregnant body in all its glory.
"I wanted an image that epitomized the human body in its most naturally beautiful state," Jonathan says. The Baroness of "G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra" is painted in gold by the artists and she poses with her hands on her back pushing out her very-pregnant belly.
It seems that Jonathan was inspired by Demi Moore's infamous naked picture on the 1991 cover of Vanity Fair. "It's been 22 years since a pregnant Demi Moore caused uproar by posing for Annie Leibovitz on the cover of Vanity Fair," he says.
"In that time society has become almost completely desensitized to the daily exposure to people who have surgically distorted their appearance for artificial reasons," he adds. "Yet certain sections of society are still uncomfortable with the appearance of pregnancy and images of naked expectant mothers are rarely seen."
"The power of the painting partly lies in the fact that Sienna is widely regarded as being one of the most naturally beautiful actresses in the world as well as being a fashion icon to a generation of girls," he continues. "It is a tribute to her courage and self-confidence that she agreed to sit for this. I can think of many figures whose public currency in part revolves around their appearance, who would prefer to hide themselves away for nine months."
The picture of pregnant Sienna will be included in Jonathan's "(I've Got You) Under My Skin" exhibition at the Circle Culture Gallery in Berlin. Two years ago, the 30-year-old beauty also posed for the artist for a series of pictures.
