Movie

Recently becoming the highlight at New York Comic-Con, the violent trailer for the remake movie is jam-packed with bloody scenes which are already familiar to the original 'Evil Dead' fans.

AceShowbiz - The violent-laden "Evil Dead" remake trailer that made audience lose their mind at recent New York Comic-Con panel has leaked online. The much-talked-about footage, which became the highlight of the convention over the weekend, offers familiar bloody scenes in the original film. They include the chainsaw scene to remove a demonic arm and the return of the rapist tree. It ends with a gory scene of a girl cutting open her own mouth with rusty scissors.

A remake of Sam Raimi's 1981 iconic horror film, "Evil Dead" tells the story of five young people who become holed up in a remote cabin where they discover a Book Of The Dead. They unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.

In the new version, "Spider-Man" director Raimi only serves as the producer along with Bruce Campbell and Robert G. Tapert. The helming duty, meanwhile, is taken over by Federico Alvarez who also pens the script along with Oscar winner Diablo Cody. The remake film is slated for an April 12, 2013 release in the United States.

During the NYCC panel, director Alvarez explained that he first watched the original "Evil Dead" when he was very young. He said that he wanted to recreate the experience he had for modern audience by using the advance technology which hadn't been available during the era of the original movie.

"There are some things that people who never saw the original will enjoy but there are a lot of hints out of the original and there are a lot of very small details that you have to be an 'Evil Dead' freak to notice," Alavrez said. "There's a lot of those, all the time."

Producer Campbell added, "As middle-aged filmmakers now, we realized maybe it's just too late to strap on that chainsaw one more time." He went on, "The point is, it's time to give these people what they want - a new experience done with handsome young thespians covered in new buckets of blood, from a new director hand-picked by Sam Raimi himself."

"You are impatient people and we know you need blood pouring out of every orifice. Your s*** will be just as freaked as it was in the original. If you want me to crown her the new Ash? I will put that crown on my f***ing self."

*UPDATE (October 25, 2012 04:14 A.M. GMT): On Wednesday, October 24, TriStar Pictures releases the official red band trailer for the "Evil Dead" remake.
