The news was first brought to attention by Charleston, South Carolina radio station 95.1 FM in a tweet that read, "Hold up, there's another story that it's Ryan Reynolds and he married Blake Lively at the Cotton Docks today!" The wedding rumor was fueled by the sightings of her mother and sister in town.

PEOPLE then confirmed that the couple of one years did tie the knot on Sunday night, September 9 in a hush-hush ceremony at Boone Hall Plantation in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. A white tent was erected at the plantation to house the guests consisting of family members and close friends. A cake was sent down from Virginia for the occasion.

In addition to seeing the lead singer of Florence and the Machine making live performances, the nuptials was made merry by a house deejay. Before the wedding, the couple was reportedly spotted dining with Bette Midler in Charleston.

According to Kelly Gukanovich from 95.1 FM, Ryan has always loved South Carolina and started to bring Blake there after they dated. "A few days ago, I heard Ryan was back in town. Then today, lots of signs went up at Boone Hall Plantation stating that it was holding a private event, so no one could get into the area," she told E! News.

"I also started hearing rumors that a celebrity wedding was taking place," she continued. "I am being told there were around 60 people at the event and that a local restaurant may have catered it."

Blake, 25, and Ryan, 35, were romantically linked after they starred together in 2011's "Green Lantern". It's the first marriage for her and the second for him.
