"End of Watch" has debuted a brand new trailer. Highlighting the bromance between Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena, the promotional video is packed with violent scenes involving the two when they are on duty as Los Angeles police officers. Additionally, they are featured having some buddy time while discussing the importance of having a family.

A powerful story of family, friendship, love, honor and courage, "End Of Watch" stars Jake and Michael as young police officers Taylor and Zavala respectively. Together, they patrol the city's meanest streets of south central Los Angeles.

Giving the story a gripping, first-person immediacy, the action unfolds through footage from the handheld HD cameras of the police officers, gang members, surveillance cameras, and citizens caught in the line of fire to create a riveting portrait of the city's most dangerous corners, the cops who risk their lives there every day, and the price they and their families are forced to pay.

The R-rated actioner is directed and written by David Ayer and is slated for a September 21 release in the United States. Anna Kendrick, America Ferrera, Natalie Martinez, Cody Horn, Frank Grillo, David Harbour and Candace Smith are also lining up in the cast ensemble.

Jake recently shared his experience of spending five months as a cop in preparation for the film. "I spent five months on the streets with, like, three sets of police officers from the sheriff's department and from the LAPD for five months, three nights a week, from like 4 in the afternoon til 4 in the morning," he told The Hollywood Reporter.

"Then we did fight training - pretty much every day with the exception of the weekend - and then tactical training for two days a week with live ammunition. So it was a five-month, I would say, 'recruitment process,' in a way. It was very intense. Not your normal, 'yeah, I did a few ride-along type situation'."
