Evelyn hopes Chad seeks help to overcome his anger-management problem, while he regrets what happened and 'will continue to be positive and train hard.'

AceShowbiz - Evelyn Lozada is divorcing Chad Ochocinco, after he was arrested for allegedly head-butting her during an argument. "Given the recent events that have taken place, Evelyn has decided to file for divorce and move on with her life," her lawyer tells "The Insider".

The football player himself issues a statement, "I would like to apologize to everyone for the recent events that have occurred. I would like to wish Evelyn well and will never say anything bad about her because I truly love her to death."

He continues, "I will continue to be positive and train hard for another opportunity in the NFL. To all the fans and supporters I have disappointed, you have my sincerest apologies. I will stay positive and get through this tough period in my life."

Chad reportedly told police that it was her who head-butted him, not the other way around. "I am deeply disappointed that Chad has failed to take responsibility for his actions and made false accusations against me," Evelyn responded.

The "Basketball Wives" star added, "It is my sincere hope that he seeks the help he needs to overcome his troubles. Domestic violence is not okay and hopefully my taking a stand will help encourage other women to break their silence as well."

Evelin and Chad got married on fourth of July this year. Explaining why he chose to get married on the independence day, the athlete said back then, "So I'd never forget our damn anniversary." He was dropped from Miami Dolphins, one day after his domestic-violence arrest.

Their reality show which was originally planned to show their wedding ceremony got canceled as well. "Due to the unfortunate events over the weekend and the seriousness of the allegations, VH1 is pulling the series 'Ev and Ocho' from its schedule and has no current plans of airing it," it's announced.
