Gotye has released a music video for his song "Save Me" to help interpret the lyrics. The clip doesn't not feature the singer or any models, but follows an animated human-like figure which is assembled from pieces of scattered stuffs on a snowy set. The figure gets its full form after it touches another human-like figure which has a heart.

"Save Me" is lifted off the Belgian-Australian artist's third studio album "Making Mirrors", which peaked at No. 6 on Billboard 200 chart after it was released in 2011. He once said that he wrote the song when he was in a great depression.

"I had really depressed periods especially after trying to mix the first few songs, whereas I felt it just wasn't happening," he told Rolling Stone Australia. "I was like 'I've put so much work into this. Do I go back to square one? Do I book more time and try again?' Or write new songs, which turned out to be the answer. And I did go back and revisit those initial songs, which did get mixed and turned out great."

"Save Me" was an expression of his gratitude to singer/songwriter Tash Parker, whom he credited for leading him "out of a lot of depression through her grace." The 32-year-old, whose real name is Wouter "Wally" De Backer, shared, "I really wanted this song to express the salvation I find in the love she's given me and how blessed I feel in that."
