McCain, Barbara Boxer and Olympia J. Snowe have all filmed their scenes with Amy Poehler and Adam Scott in Washington earlier this week.

AceShowbiz - During its visit to Washington, "Parks and Recreation" has apparently arranged a meeting with some real-life political figures. The New York Times reported that three sitting senators, John McCain of Arizona, Barbara Boxer of California and Olympia J. Snowe of Maine, would guest star in an upcoming episode of the NBC comedy.

The three senators filmed a cocktail party scene with series regulars Amy Poehler and Adam Scott at the Hay-Adams hotel in Washington on Thursday, July 19, the same day the 2012 Emmy nominations were announced. McCain has posted on his Twitter a picture that captures him and Poehler on the set. "Had a great time shooting @ParksandRecNBC today w/ Amy Poehler - I think it's an Emmy!" so he wrote.

The episode set in Washington will see Leslie (Poehler) visiting Ben (Scott), who moved to Washington to join the staff of a congressman in last season finale. Ben will introduce Leslie, who just won the Pawnee's City Council election, to the senators at the party.

The said outing has been scheduled to air as the second episode of season 5. However, executive producer Michael Schur said they have been considering to move the episode to the season premiere on Thursday, September 20.
