The 'Homeland' lead actress and her husband are confirmed to be expecting their first child, three years after tying the knot.
Claire Danes and Hugh Dancy are the latest celebrity couple expecting their child. A representative for the Carrie Mathison of "Homeland" confirms the happy news to PEOPLE. The baby will be the first child for the twosome, who got married in 2009.
A spokesperson for "Homeland" production company, Fox 21, assures that Danes' pregnancy won't affect the production of the Showtime drama/thriller series. The show which won 2011 Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series - Drama has been renewed for a second season of twelve episodes. The sophomore installment will premiere September 30 this year.
Claire Danes, 33, and Hugh Dancy, 37, first met while starring together in 2007 movie "Evening". They had been dating for more than a year when they announced their engagement in early February 2009. The couple got hitched a few months later. "There's definitely a chance, no plans yet," she once said when asked about baby. "But yeah, that'd be fun."
